We all love free stuff. Here are some links we think you will find helpful from Ethos Education.

Ethos Education* publishes free resources and cost-effective live events for teachers to help students explore spiritual, moral, social and cultural issues through contemporary media. These free resources for schools help young people to explore SMSC issues; and to consider the Bible’s teaching about contemporary questions.

Assemblies Online (

Free downloadable school assemblies, based around popular feature films, for Primary and Secondary schools, fulfilling legal requirements for ‘collective worship’ but suitable for pupils of all communities.

Each assembly helps school pupils develop a greater understanding of themselves, their community and the world around them; and to explore the Bible’s teaching about contemporary issues.

RE Lessons Online (

Free downloadable Religious Education lessons, based around popular feature films, for Secondary schools. Each lesson helps school pupils explore the biblical text in the various RE curricula. Directly mapping onto the GCSE syllabi but also suitable for non-examined RE.

Sixth Form Conferences (www.ethoseducation/conferences)

Live, interactive and engaging events taking place at your school. Fulfilling requirements for RE and SMSC, and values education. Our team of experienced presenters provide engaging and effective half-day Religious Education events for Sixth Form students (16-19 year olds) in schools across the UK.

Sixth Form Tutor Time (www.Take-One.TV)

Each week, Sixth Formers meet for ‘Tutor Time.’ Take-One.TV is a unique new free educational resource designed for Sixth Form Tutor Times based on the latest film releases, but also adaptable for use in a wide range of settings. Each Take-One Video poses questions, and comes with a Leader’s Guide to help build the discussion.

A Level RE Lessons (

In partnership with Oxford University Press, Ethos Education provide A-Level Religious Education resources including short videos by experts and a new annotation technique that draws students into the text. They offer two free pilot lessons on Aquinas’ Cosmological Arguments and Kant’s Objection to the Ontological Argument.

Superbook (

Also currently being developed… The official UK schools’ resources for the contemporary remake of SuperbookThis popular animated TV series takes two children, Chris and Joy, together with their robot friend Gizmo, on adventures back in time – where they meet biblical characters and explore their stories.

What people say: is invaluable in my planning and delivery of assemblies, and always my first port of call. Relevant, quirky, inspiring, and always enjoyed and valued by pupils and staff alike. I am so thankful that is now free and open access.’

Rev Forbes Walker, Chaplain, Emanuel School, London

Take-One.TV is a perfect addition to Tutor Time. I am able to pick it up and run with it without the need for much preparation. The video is pitched well and the excellent questions, with their rigour and challenge, provoke discussion and insight.’

Cheryl Miller, Head of PSHCE, Loreto Grammar School, Altrincham
