Ever thought about where your 'stuff' comes from and how things are so cheap?
A great website to use which shows this - really thought provoking and it's broken down into sections so you can dip in and out of what you need.

Here's some news about a great opportunity for your schools. The NATRE (National Association of Teachers of Religious Education) are running a competition to help students explore their spiritual ideas, questions and beliefs. Each year the competition sets 5 themes that students need to respond to through art, and once again this year they are themes that will get them talking, thinking, debating and questioning for themselves. Keep reading for the themes, a powerpoint introducing the competition, and further details.

If you have a question about Easter, the likelihood is that someone else will probably be thinking the same thing. Here are a list of questions on the rejesus site about Easter and some suggested answers. If your question isn't there, they invite you to write in with it! A good point of reference and resource to point teachers and young people to.

This is late notice, but if you're able to make some time, there's a great conference coming up on Wednesday this week organised by reinspired. It's a one day conference equipping you and your church to build lasting relationships with local schools by helping deliver exciting curriculum-driven RE lessons and assemblies and supporting the spiritual development of pupils.

Pray for schools

What is the most significant contribution we can make to our schools? I'd suggest Prayer? Many are already involved not just on occasions like Education Sunday which we've just had or schools prayday in November.
I guess every day our schools and those involved in them are being prayed for by pupils, parents, teachers, church leaders, others and of course schools workers. Pray For Schools is happening in May (5-15 has been suggested) and being put together by a number of organisations. Do have a look at Every thing is there to help, some background behind it and at the heart to develop, co-ordinate more of what is already happening...with maybe more prayer.

Well done to the people involved in putting that together. If none of these dates are suitable, another can be suggested. People will know what is appropriate for their location and churches and interested people.

Have a good day

Looking for Lent Resources?

The Love Life, Live Lent campaign began 3 years ago, and is back for another year...check out the site. The idea behind it is this: 'Instead of giving up chocolate or going on a detox, it encourages people to undertake a simple act of generosity each day. The actions are small and fun to do, but make a real difference in homes, families and communities.'

Poverty & Homelessness

I missed the fact that it was Homelessness Day on Sunday. However there are a couple things you might find useful...this week is Poverty and Homelessness Action Week, with a great site set up to cater for it with lots of lovely resources (you have to register to download anything, but only takes a minute and is worth not only discusses poverty on a global scale but also brings it closer to home).

Also, the Salvation Army site has some resources which help children and young people explore this issue in schools...I really like their glocal poverty stuff (think global. act local).

Conferences are an amazing chance to connect with other youth, schools and children's workers...a time to be encouraged and feel supported in your work, challenged to learn how to work better aswell as inspired by others who are walking a similar journey to you. With this in mind there are a few conferences coming up between now and the summer specifically for schools workers that it's worth thinking about getting along to.

If you live up North, Pais are hosting a conference next month, and so this one I will start off by mentioning, but keep reading for more...
