Positive change
Hope that God changes things little by little. A story of an amazing lad.
Why?
At LCET recently it’s felt like really hard work to get young people to attend the cafes and clubs we’re putting on and we’re starting to ask why? Is it something we’re doing wrong? Is it a change in youth culture? Does God have new plans for our ministry? What’s it all about? We had an opportunity to pick the brains of Brian McLaren and Gerard Kelly and see if they had any light to shed…we’d also love to hear from you!
More Than a Product
fairtrade makes a big difference, as do those people who buy and sell it
The Flipside
Using the Malorie Blackman Trilogy ‘Noughts and Crosses’ as a starting point for discussion on race, justice and equality.
Making movies that make change
Today has been an interesting journey. That’s the great thing about the internet. You come across one thing and then, in a matter of moments it takes you somewhere else and then, a few minutes later you end somewhere you didn’t even know existed just that few moments back.
Service Day in the States
I don’t know if you’ve followed the Barack Obama rise to victory, but just a day before his inauguration next week he will volunteer with his wife Michelle in Washington, helping out in the community as part of the national day of service. On January 19th, Obama is calling for people across America to take part in their local communities to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr’s life. Michelle Obama says “this is a day when we honour a man who lived his life in service to others and showed us what we can accomplish when we stand together”.
Kick starting community action
Volunteering projects to get young people involved in creating media as a catalyst for change in their communities.
