Easter Emotions
In the Youthwork Magazine in 2009, there was a great lesson from RE Today based on the idea of exploring emotions in the Easter story. The resource is now here for you to download.

My life as a tube line…
In the October Youthwork Magazine the featured schoolswork resource is ‘My Life as a Tube Line’. Here you can access the accompanying resources.

Easter Emotions
In the March Youthwork Magazine we featured a lesson on Easter Emotions, helping students engage with the themes and emotions that the disciples experienced in the Holy week. Here is the downloadable presentation to accompany the lesson.
The Passion
The Bible Society have produced a pack to accompany the BBC TV series ‘The Passion’ which aired last Easter. If you’re doing lessons this Easter, this really is a fantastic pack to get your hands on. There are incredibly creative resources based on the 4 programmes helping students engage with the Easter story. There are links with the curriculum for KS3, 4 and 5, and it’s produced in such a way that the material can be adapted for your group, whether a lesson, a 6th form RE day, or even in a church setting. Highly recommend taking a look, more info here.

Instant animated movies

xtranormal is a new site that lets you create animated movies without any previous experience! Basically, you type in what you want characters to say, choose what they’ll look like and where the caerma will be and, before you know it, there’s a movie! I think has two real possibilities: one is giving young people the chance to make a movie as part of a project in, say, an RE lesson. The other is making movies that you can use in a presentation during a lesson or assembly. The site has plenty of examples of movies that have already been created and, whilst it’s not Pixar, the look is quite impressive. With a little practice you could put together something very cool. Have a go and see what you think!
Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
I am yet to see this film, but have it on good authority of the Curtis that it is one worth watching and using in your work with young people. So, the wonderful people at Youth Specialities have once again blessed us with their creativity and put together a study guide based on the film, free to download from their website.
