Conferences…

Conferences are an amazing chance to connect with other youth, schools and children’s workers…a time to be encouraged and feel supported in your work, challenged to learn how to work better aswell as inspired by others who are walking a similar journey to you. With this in mind there are a few conferences coming up between now and the summer specifically for schools workers that it’s worth thinking about getting along to. If you live up North, Pais are hosting a conference next month, and so this one I will start off by mentioning, but keep reading for more…

From the 18-20th Feb 2009, PAIS are hosting a 3 day conference at Life Church Burnley. It’s called SWAP and is full of training, inspiration, practical sessions and opportunites to network with other schools workers, youth workers and children’s workers.

The cost is £50 for delegates; £35 for M4 [M4 is 14-18 year olds who want to make a difference in their school].  Special Guests are Paul Gibbs and Brad Hawkes [New Generation].

On 22nd May, the next STREAM conference is due to take place at the London City Mission. (STREAM conferences are organised by a group of schools workers drawn from Barnabas Trust, CRIBS, London City Mission, Scripture Union, Spinnaker Trust and Sutton Schools Christian Workers Trust).  The last conference looked at how we can engage with multi-faith issues in schools, and is a chance for schools workers in London and the South East to get together for times of encouragement and teaching.
