Hopefully you’re getting a bit of a break or at least a change over half term, but if tomorrow at 1pm you decide you want to brush up on your behaviour management technique, why not check this out.

From TES:
We’ve got Tom Bennett, behaviour and classroom management expert, live online Friday 29 october 1-3pm to answer your questions on any aspect of behaviour management.

It’s your chance to share those worries that you don’t feel comfortable talking about in school or in your training college. If you want to remain anonymous make sure you enter a nick name into the Your Name field when you ask your question.

Why not get your question in early to make sure Tom answers your query.

Visit the site here.

If you’re not around tomorrow but interested in top behaviour management tips, here’s their top 10:

1. Use “I want” statements (be assertive)
2. Stay calm
3. Remove the audience (away from class)
4. Defuse, don’t escalate
5. Don’t rise to the bait
6. Build a ‘wall’ (don’t let the words hit you)
7. Make them decide (they have a choice)
8. Sanction the behaviour (not the child)
9. Follow it through
10. Make the sanction count (help them understand the discipline)
