The Story So far is a performance and series of workshops for RE by Lacey Theatre Company. I’ve seen it and it is SUPERB. Entertaining - interactive, fun and relevant for years 7-9. Some fantatsic one liners, very dramatic and moving as key aspects of the bible are portrayed in a very accesible way for pupils.

After the performance, that last about 40 minutes, a variety of workshops are available making it not just suitable for RE but Drama as well. They are looking for opportunities to take this into schools and work with key local contacts. I can thoroughly recommend them and hope to have them soon around here. One of my colleagues booked them up straight away having just seen the performance
“Lacey Theatre Company were fantastic, the kids loved them, and gained a great deal” Quote from a Drama teacher in Wiltshire. ” It was not as boring as I thought it would be. Actually I quite enjoyed it. The story was fantastic and they used different accents” Year 8 pupil. worked with these guys two years running when working in a church in Eastbourne - they are just brilliant. they did performances for all five year groups both times, as well as a church performance. we had great feedback from the church, the school and the pupils. we ran a lunch club in the school as a follow-up, and we saw several young people come to faith as a result - awesome!

as well as saying how good they were, i thought it was worth highlighting the lesson i learnt so powerfully - that the opportunity for follow-up with the young ppl always needs to be at the forefront of my thinking & prioritised in my planning.
